Education Overview

Education is an important aspect of serving as a qualified real estate agent and Realtor®. Here are a few things you need to know.

New Realtors

  1. As a new Realtor®  you are required to take two NAR orientation classes, the New Realtor Orientation and New Realtor Ethics.
  2. You are also required to take the Snake River MLS new member orientation. You should be contacted by SRMLS staff about a week or two after you sign up, where they will schedule you for the next available class.
To learn more about both of these orientations, go here.

Renewing Realtors

  1. Every three years, you need to renew your Code of Ethics certification through NAR. To learn more, go here.

Real Estate Agent License Renewal with the State

You must stay current on your Idaho state licensing Continuing Education requirements. If you do not complete your CE before your expiration date, your license is automatically put on inactive.

You can see the requirements by going here.

There are three ways to satisfy these requirements. You can take in person classes when they are available, online computer based training (CBT) through the CEShop and NAR, or live Zoom classes through private educators and various associations that are approved.
