RPAC, which stands for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), has been around since 1969. It is one of the most bipartisan political action committees in the world. Its main goal is to support the election of candidates who are dedicated to protecting property rights across the United States and the real estate industry in general. But what does that mean?
REALTORS® are people who work in the real estate industry and help people buy and sell homes and commercial property. RPAC is not about regular membership fees; it's about REALTORS® voluntarily donating their time, talents, and money to support political candidates who understand and support their interests in the political world. Their primary interest is to protect property ownership, property rights, and the industry that facilitates free trade principles in real estate.
Now, let's talk about the REALTOR® Party. It's a powerful group that includes REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations. Their mission is to protect and promote homeownership and property investment. They speak together with one voice to support candidates and policies that make our communities strong and create a thriving business environment.
In a nutshell, RPAC and the REALTOR® Party work hand in hand to ensure that the interests of real estate professionals and homeowners are well-represented in politics. They aim to make sure the real estate industry continues to grow and provide opportunities for people to own homes and invest in properties, and to protect private ownership and rights.
The Upper Valley Association of Realtors® is actively engaged in supporting RPAC. It is dedicated to supporting local and national issues that affect the real estate industry, investors, and private land owners. Donations to RPAC are not exclusively sent to the national level of politics. RPAC funds are used right here in Idaho to further the causes that it represents. Some examples of local use of RPAC funds include the following:
Examples of RPAC money in action:
Every year the Upper Valley Association of Realtors® sponsors a summer-time auction event in Rexburg, Idaho. Realtors® join with community businesses and private citizens to champion property ownership and rights by donating time, money and auction items to be auction at a luncheon. The money raised is sent to RPAC, the largest political action lobbyist in the United States dedicated to protecting the rights of property ownership.
Investing in RPAC is not limited to RPAC events. Although many Realtors® donate money each year to RPAC when they renew their Realtor® membership, private citizens and business owners can invest at any time. Making a investment is easy. To learn how, please visit our RPAC investment page.
